monkeying with settings for a better winamp look
a) To get that tiny song title display (winamp 2.9x look)
Why are we doing this? Classic skins depends on a file called text.bmp
for fonts in the main window. For Winamp 2, this includes the song
title area. Which means I'd skin that area with text.bmp in mind.
Winamp 5 doesn't use text.bmp for fonts and thus has a larger song
title area which might cause the skin to not appear proper.
The only disadvantage of using skinned fonts is it doesn't allow for
display of foreign text. Which is no biggie since the playlist can
handle that.
- right-click on winamp and select
Options
> Preferences
- click on
Classic Skins
- Select 'Use skinned font for...'
b) Setting the playlist font
Why are we doing this? Skinners can set the font type that appears in
the playlist. By doing this, you can see the customized font that was
set by the skinner :)
You can also control the font size of the playlist from here.
- select
Options
> Preferences
- Click on
Playlist
- Select these two options;
- You can control the size of the font by adjusting the number in that
box.
- Display of foreign text is achievable, provided your OS has the
proper language pack installed.
